OUTREACH
- Produced a video on the City´s ADA Compliance efforts; video available

- Presentations available on Title I, Title II, and Title III
- Major efforts to involve disability community in COA´s ADA
Implementation Process
- Produce and distribute printed materials and brochures concerning ADA issues
- Present at national and local conventions as requested
MEDIA RELATIONS
- Information regularly distributed to Press regarding COA´s ADA
progress of implementation
- Video Sales - on a National basis
- Annual information provided to Association of Broadcasters
- Assist Media-general ADA information and City of Austin implementation
as requested
- Participate in Radio and Television programs
REPORT TO CITY OFFICIALS
- Produce annual ADA Implementation Status Report.
- Provide consultations with regard to citizen requests and inquiries
- Develop an annual ADA related budget
- Respond to ADA surveys representing the City of Austin

President´s Committee on the Employment of People with
Disabilities

DISSEMINATE ACCURATE INFORMATION TO:
- Department ADA Coordinators (regularly)
- Employee, Supervisors
- General Public/Citizens Business Owners, Architects
- Professional Development: Provide information to students for ADA related dissertations
- Maintain adequate stock of publicly provided information for staff, public use, and distribution
- Provide information through electronic mail and Internet use.

INVESTIGATION OF COMPLAINTS
- Respond to citizen complaints - issues of programmatic and facility
issues
- Respond to employee’s complaints: Advise staff on how to handle
appropriate requests and complaints
ACCOMMODATIONS
- Assist employees and departments in determining appropriate
accommodations including providing resources
- Direct citizens in proper procedures for obtaining needed information
for accommodating clients and employees
- Administers ADA discretion fund
MONITORING COMPLIANCE
- Self-evaluation by City departments prepared and assimilated
- Transition Plan as required by the Act; structural changes outlined by each department
- Curb and sidewalk plan monitored
