Adult Community Service
A Municipal Court Judge may order you to perform community service as part of a deferred disposition (probation) or instead of payment of fines, costs and fees. Once a Judge has ordered community service, it is your responsibility to make arrangements to perform the number of work hours ordered by the Judge by the date given by the Judge. Please review the rules pertaining to community service.
You may call any of the non-profit agencies on Court’s Community Service list to make arrangements. There is one list for south and east Austin and one list for north and west Austin. You are welcome to perform community service at locations from either list. Please allow plenty of time to perform your hours of community service before the deadline. Once you begin work, you must have the non-profit agency complete the time sheet provided by the Court.
If you have any questions, please contact the Austin Municipal Court at 512-974-4800.
