Christmas Tree Mulch Available Soon. The Austin Parks and Recreation Department will have free Christmas tree mulch available to the public at Zilker Park shortly after Christmas trees have been collected.
The mulch is available on a first-come-first-service basis and is strictly for private use.
Individuals picking up mulch should bring their own bags, and equipment. Park personnel will not be available to assist loading.
The Parks and Recreation staff strongly recommend that the mulch be placed in a compost pile for several months.
The mulch is "green" and the decay process causes it to get very hot. If the mulch is applied without a waiting period it may damage areas where it is spread.

Lacey Richter - Paint, Dance, and Dialogues at Butridge Gallery.
Subtle and alluring, much like a dance, there is a magical relationship between the painter and the loaded brush; an intuitive dialogue takes place.
Through the use of form, texture, pushing of paint, and bold color, Lacey Richter leads viewers on a journey of wonderment and expression revealing an intimate space for internal dialogue.
Infused with painterly movement and fluidity, floods of emotion and color collect upon the surfaces of canvas and wood, in oils, offering hints and visual residues of organic shapes such as seed pods, roots, and feathers.
The familiar and delicate lining that often protects ones' unexpressed thoughts and emotions finds breathing room in Paint, Dance, and Dialogues.
