Forestry Mission Statement
To provide, protect and preserve the highest quality care of Austin’s urban forest through planting, maintenance and replacement of trees in parks, along streets and in other public areas, thereby contributing to positive recreational, cultural and outdoor experiences for the Austin community.
Austin citizens greatly value trees in their city, as does the Parks and Recreation Department Forestry staff. For more information about the Parks and Recreation Department Forestry, view the links above - for questions on notifying the City about a tree issue, please select Reporting Public Tree Concerns
The trees at Barton Springs Pool are a valuable resource to Austin’s citizens, and require specific care and management for their health and for safety to the public. To make a donation toward the care of these trees, visit Barton Springs Tree Preservation Donations. To view preliminary plans for a tree planting in the area, visit Barton Springs Tree Planting Plan.
