Serving as a liaison between the general public and the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD), the Off Leash Area Advisory Committee’s (OLAAA) mission is to support public and sustainable recreation for off-leash dogs and their humans, through partnerships and volunteers, education, fund-raising, identifying prospective OLA sites and providing PARD with advice and counsel on new and existing OLAs.

Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) is now accepting applications for four (4) positions on the Off-Leash Area Advisory Committee (OLAAC). Qualified candidates replace current committee members with expiring terms.
OLAAC is an eleven (11) member panel of community volunteers who advise PARD on matters impacting the city’s off-leash areas (OLA). OLAAC committee members serve two (2) year terms.
Finalist candidates will have an opportunity to attend an OLAAC informational overview, and meet OLAAC members. Finalist candidates will be notified by September 3, 2010, to attend the information overview, to be held September 8, 2010, 6PM, PARD Annex, 919 West 28 ˝ street.
