Above Left: The garbage truck has plenty of room to grasp and empty this cart. Leave 5 feet of space beside the cart.
Above right: The garbage truck also needs space over your cart. Do not place your cart under low-hanging tree limbs.
Leave Space Between Your Garbage, Recycling & Yard Trimmings
Above: Plenty of space has been left between each item so the garbage truck has space to empty the cart.
The space also means that the recycling and yard trimmings crews will be able to spot the recycling bin and yard bags easily.
Above: The garbage, recycling and yard trimmings are too close to each other.
The garbage truck will have trouble emptying the cart, and the garbage cart may block the recycling and yard trimmings from view.
Extra Garbage
Above: Extra bags of garbage should look like this. Each bag has a yellow extra garbage sticker on it. The bags are no more than 30 gallons and they have been placed to one side of the garbage cart.
Left: Do not pile extra bags of garbage on top of your cart. The lid of your cart must close. This household will be charged $8 (plus tax) for the collection of two bags of extra garbage without extra garbage stickers.
